Like you said, her music is played on all radio stations however in my opnion its also because she writes her own music through her teenage life experiences which many teens can relate to which increases her fanbase. Another reason which is logical but stupid is that she has really hot guy celebrities in her music videos. I mean look at Love Story, Justin Gaston is in it and he is famous and very handsome, another example in the video You Belong With Me she has Lucas Till who broke hearts in Hannah Monatana the Movie and is now very famous because he good looking and a good actor. I think she takes advantage of these guy celebrities and their fans as the more fans they have the more people watch her videos and after a while songs grow on people which is what i think is happening and dont forget that she also dated three of hollywoods biggest names, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and Lucas Till. In some way she is like a social-climber
As much as i love Taylor Swift, but she is not beautiful, and she wears very high heels for her height, however she is natrual song-writer and very good guitarist and her voice isnt that bad, but i still think that Taylor Swift is over-rated.

I also wanted to say that personally I have found no attraction to males in her music videos, I am not a big watcher of many music videos. I think that what draws me to her is the lyrics of her song. I find them quite meaningful compared to most song these days. Maybe that is why I am so protective of her being bashed. I know that I only have talent like hers in my dreams. I do agree many famous pop stars are overrated, because they can sing well. I see a lot more in Swift though. She writes all of her music which to me is simply amazing at her young age! I really appreciate hearing your opinion though!

i like the songs she writes and think shes a good song writter, but i dont think shes a good singer, in the studio they make her voice sound good but when u listen to her live its like she talks her way through it and cant hit the notes like shes suppose to. I'm a fan of country and her new songs arent that country anymore but she still goes as being country, and shes not, shes like pop. she should stick to writting sngs and giving them to people who can sing them like their suppose to be sung cuz the songs she writes are good

I don't think she is a very good singer or performer or songwriter at all. She is not even all that attractive. It is amazing what makeup and hairstylists can do. I think Kanye was right for what he did at the awards show. Talented people should get the respect they deserve and posers should not. I will be glad when this Taylor Swift fad is over. She will never compare to the greats with TRUE talent (Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Lee Ann Womack, just to name a few).

She cant sing
she can play the guitar (good)
she's pretty (good)
she writes songs about puppy love and princes (Good for those aged 12-17)
she's creative (good)

but as to why she wins grammys and multiple awards is beyond me. I believe it's just because the younger demographic are using their parents credit cards to buy her albums and concert tickets. It's true, her music is something new. Kudos to her. But never forget, where there is a famous artist, there's an excellent team of makeupartists/publicists/record company/etc.

She probably has an excellent team backing her.

britney spears a 7 (she may not have an excellent voice, but she can still sing, and she has AMAZING stage presence)

Taylor sucks at singing. That is the first thing I will say. She is often out of tune and doesn't have good vocals. I agree though the only item I see her having that makes her worth all the popularity she has is her lyrics and her songs - she is an AMAZING song writer.

One thing that gets me going though is that she is not country. I repeat. She is NOT country music. She is pop and pop all the way. Saying that people like her because she is a country singer young enough and with songs people can get connected to - check again. Her songs are purely pop. They may sound country because of her slight twang and some of the instrumental items, but the lyrics are pop.

On the local country station it was once asked, why is Lady Antebellum labeled as country while Taylor is labeled as pop? Someone answered with a good answer that was, "Lady A sings country. They sing about the stereotypical drinking, break-ups, and faith and makes country country and makes country stand out. Taylor Swift sings about the teenage love which is POP."

Country is not made to reach out to the teenagers of America. They are made to talk about the daily life of people of all ages. They talk about history, they talk about the pride in the soldiers that fight for our freedom that Americans should have. They talk about the disappointments as well as the joys of being in a relationship. They talk about the love and the joy of living. They joke and are serious. Country music has so many angles to it that people are not aware of. Country music IS life!

Taylor Swifts song of boys and how they break her heart and the average teenage female's obsessiveness with young love is not what country music is about.

Personally, I am a seventeen year-old female living in the Midwest and I have more of a connection with singers like Jaron and The Long Road to Love, Martina McBride, Rodney Atkins, Trace Adkins, George Strait, Jared Neiman, James Otto, etc. None of them are young woman.

Personally, I will be glad when this generation of packaged stars has had their day. While I give her kudos for writing her own material, I don't think she is an entertainer, at all, just a singer.She may grow into being an entertainer, but that takes years of experience in front of an audience. Bette Midler has it, Taylor does not, yet. (Also, personally, I find most of her songs boring- but then I'm a 42 year old man, not a young person.)

I agree that Taylor is oh so beautiful (kinda dreamy) she 's got talent and a good songwriter (ALthough some are her songs are same as her old songs lately which I thinks is a consequence of working with major labels and the pressure made by her managers in determining a dead line to complete an album) she sings good. beautiful voice (Not unique and I think Elvis didn't have a unique voice too). But I STRONGLY agree that there is no way you can call her country. she is not country at all. she is POP and nothing else. AN I agree with this friend here her lyrics are so juvenile. It's all about making friends with this boy and breaking up with that boyfriend and fairytales. birds and bees .... it seems like she doesn't know anything about what is going on out there in the real world. she doesn't know anything about girls whose genitals were cut off (FGM) in some countries. And how beautifully the "Dream Rovers" band addressed her in their new song "Dear Superstar" that "When your dancing in the rain, there's a lotta girls that living in the pain"
I hope she understands in someday. Taylor, I love you, you are beautiful talented but unfotunately you are such an American little girl who thinks the whole world is America.

i think its sad that you peple have the need to dis people who are much better than you will ever be..i think she is amazing. she is an awsome singer and song writer. her songs are meaningful to many people. she is amazing and beautiful. she is my hero and nothing u people can see that will change that.

erm actually i think it's not so much about her talent or how she looks but her PERSONALITy. she is totally drug-free and alcohol-free and the most un-scandolous singer i know. and she's just really genuine and sweet and nice. isnt this the most important quality in a person?! even though talent is important but i think personality is equally so(:
