A moment to honor Chris Henry!

By Miss Tina · December 17, 2009 · 0 Comments · 7 Views

As I am sure some of you may have already heard the NFL Cincinnati Bengals lost a great teammate. Today Chris Henry, the Bengals receiver passed away after injuries he sustained from falling out of the back of a pick-up truck. The police have put homicide detectives on to the case, and have described the initial incident as a domestic dispute with Henry’s fiancée.

As everyone has already said this is quite shocking, and quite sad! I would like to take a moment to say that I wish the best to his children, and family! This is quite a horrific thing for them to face at such a young age. I also wish the best to the Bengals because as many people know Henry has not had the perfect past that most NFL stars have had, and yet still they saw something within Henry and kept him on the team and even resigned him after 5 arrests while in the NFL. They said that Henry was really on the right track now, and this is very hard for them to take.

You can read more details about Henry’s past with the Bengals and this incident here.

Is the death penalty appropriate?

"The real reason the state has asked for the death penalty is because they wish to get as biased a jury as they possibly can," Lyon said. "It has the effect of coercing pleas in cases where that may in fact not be appropriate."

This is a quote from Casey Anthony’s attorney. For those of you who do not know she is on trial for murdering her two-year-old daughter. They are unable to determine the exact cause of death for the young child, but the prosecution is still trying for the death penalty. They have their own theory of the crime, and they feel that it does fit Florida’s requirements for the death penalty. Anthony’s attorneys believe that because the cause of death is unknown the prosecution cannot prove that the death of her two-year-old daughter death was cruel, heinous or atrocious which they claim is standard in Florida. That is where the above quote comes into play. I would agree that in fact the death penalty is not appropriate when you have murdered your own two-year-old daughter! You deserve something far worse!

The prosecution believes that the child was drugged and then multiple pieces of duct tape were placed over her nose and mouth so that she would suffocate to death. They also believe that it is possible that the child was tied while given the substance that made her unable to resist while being duct taped. Even though the cause of death is unknown, they did find duct tape on the baby once she was finally found.

It is just amazing how this case has played out. Do you have any opinions? Do you believe that she killed her own child? Need more details? Read more about the pretrial here at MSNBC.

MSNBC.com has just released notice that the Italian Court did convict Amanda Knox of murdering her British Roommate. There are not many details avalibale at this time, but they did sentence her to 26 years in jail. No word yet about her codefendant. I did also read that there was a third man charged with this murder who was already convicted and is currently appealing his charges. When I have more time I will update you on all of the new information I have found on this case! Stay tuned!

Maybe Watching the News is Good

By Miss Tina · November 20, 2009 · 0 Comments · 5 Views

So tonight I spent the night on my laptop in my bed working since my boyfriend went to bed quite early due to lack of sleep and being sick. Since I did this I also watched some of my favorite shows that I rarely watch on TV. I usually watch all of my shows online a few days after they have been shown on TV because I am usually in my office working at least 12 hours a day, and usually while they on TV.

Any who when “Numb3rs” ended tonight the news followed and since I was deep into what I was doing I actually half watched it for once! I rarely ever watch the news, because again it is rarely on when I am watching TV. So while working away I hear my hometown mentioned, and it is not that large of a town so it catches my ear. I continue to listen to the news only halfway until I hear that they are talking about an owner of a local Chinese Restaurant who is being charged with a variety of charges revolving around his illegal marijuana growing operation. I still don’t pay much attention to this because marijuana has been in the news constantly here because they are having a lot of changes with our medicinal marijuana laws here. Then I realize that they are pretty serious charges that were also relating to the Chinese restaurant. I look up when they start to talk about which restaurant it is (because they will not name the business) and realize it is the one that was about a mile from my last apartment, and that is my boyfriend’ favorite restaurant!
