Do you know of any Hidden Treasures?

I have had an idea for a blog for a long time and I am finally getting it into gear! I have started a blog called Hidden Treasures Online. Currently I am starting this blog with Blogspot.com, but I will be posting my articles on other sites as well. This blog is dedicated to Hidden Treasures Online, I would like to include ones that are offline but unless they are in Denver I have no way to review the company. To describe it in short this is to try to help trustworthy, honest small companies get their names a bit more known for free. We all know that advertising takes money, and let’s face it we don’t always have enough! Small businesses, bloggers, or new businesses especially don’t have a lot of money to promote themselves in this economy. That does not mean that they do not deserve the acknowledgement or praise, so that is why I am doing this… for FREE!

I run my own E-Commerce website (Plenty~O~Gifts), and I know how hard to is to get your name out there to other people when you have a small budget to work with. I saw a few different blogs and websites that focus time on bringing unknown small businesses to light. I thought that it would be a great idea to make a whole blog focusing on all the many hidden treasures online. Blogs, small businesses, home businesses, musicians, writers, and anything else that is requested of me!
If you know of a company, group, website, band, blog or anything else that you think is a hidden treasure just let me know. I will research it and write about it! Some blog posts will be on more than just this website though. They may be put onto other freelance websites, so let me know if that would be an issue when requesting an article from me! You can submit all your requests to hiddentreasuresblog@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you all!
Once a request has been made it will be added to the list to consider for our next review. The only reason an article request will not be honored is if the company is offensive to anyone of any nature. I also will choose to not write an article if I feel that the company requested is not of typical standards. We understand that these are small businesses, but we will not promote a company that is not trustworthy and that does not have a trustworthy message to send.

Why is Taylor Swift Popular?

I recently was asked why Taylor Swift was popular, needless to say I was shocked and unsure how to respond! This question came from my Grandmother who said that she was asking me why Taylor Swift was popular because I am younger so maybe I could explain it. She said that she did not like Taylor Swift at all. She also said that she cannot understand most of the words in her song, and thought that she had no talent. She even said that maybe people think she can sing because she has such bird like legs.
I am the first person who says everyone is able to have their own opinions, I know I have mine! I just don’t understand what she was saying. I know that I think Taylor Swift is an amazing artist, I kind of assumed everyone understood she had an amazing talent. This was my response to my Grandmother on why I thought she was so popular…
“Personally I like Taylor Swift, and mostly because I can relate to the things her songs are about. I think that she is so popular because they are very few young country singers and therefore she reaches an audience that most others cannot. She has songs that many different generations can relate to. Also, as you said she is a country singer who sings very upbeat tunes which is also uncommon for younger generations. Many people my age and especially younger do not listen to any old country classics so they just hear the same kind of country music all of the time, and she isn't the typical or normal country signer.
She crosses the line between young pop, general pop, and country. This helps her gain fans because she is played on a wide variety of radio stations instead of just the country ones. This also causes her to be very hated, hence the whole situation that occurred at the MTV Video Music Awards when Kanye West went on stage during her acceptance speech and said she did not deserve to win. I personally know that many people who I knew did not support her before support her now because she has been put through so many situations like the one with Kanye because she crosses a vast number of genres and age groups.
Again, I am a big fan of her music. However, I have often been told that I have horrible taste in music because I listen to all kinds of music and most people don't like their music as diverse as I like mine. When Taylor Swift first came out I was not a huge fan of her, but I think her music has a great message and that she has an amazing talent. She writes all of her own music, that is simply amazing to me!”
